Today marked my first full year as a Catholic. Sort of. If you count Easter to Easter.
It was one Easter ago that I walked out of Mass to a lovely “Congratulations!” from Canon P, and walked home chuffed.
It was the culmination of several months of RCIA and a lot of contemplation. How things changed in the year that followed.
New church, new faces, new friends. I’ve moved from polite smiles to friendly nods to knowing the names of the people I go to Mass with.
I know a bit about their lives, and they know about me. To say that joining the Catholic church is life-changing is too obvious to be ridiculous. Of course it has, but in ways I never imagined.
He is risen!
